It's Coming to an End

There’s a chill in the air, snowflakes fall like confetti, the sounds of music reveal the season, while shimmering lights and colorful décor adorn the streets and homes. All signs pointing to what some refer to as the most wonderful time of the year. But, for those living in biblical times, the signs of the times were severely different.
Herod’s empire governed the people harshly filling the streets with evil and fear that bound people in their homes. The sounds of weeping mothers filled the air as their baby boys were ordered to be killed by Herod. (Mat. 2:18) The law of Moses formed religious mindsets in leaders that oppressed the people and robbed them of sonship with God. And as people looked for a new ruler to redeem them from the harsh government and religious leaders, God was forming the Savior in the womb of a troubled virgin woman. She would be highly favored, and He would be called the Son of the Most High, and save the people from their sins. (Mt. 1:21)
In the midst of these times, the glory of the Lord shone around the shepherds (Lk. 2:9), as angels announced the “good news of great joy for all the people”. A lone star lit the eastern skies (Mt. 2:9) signaling that the time had come for a new King to be born whose kingdom will never end! “The time had fully come, God sent his son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law that, that we might receive the full rights of sons”. (Gal. 4:4-5)
