Key Verses: Mat. 18:3, 1 Cor. 9:20-22, 1 John 2:15, Romans 8:29
Every generation has its defining superstars. Whether is Elvis, Michael Jackson, the Beatles, MJ or Taylor Swift, these iconic people have had an influence in their respective eras. It’s easy for people to be captivated by the allure of trendy images and popular role models in our society, compelling us to aspire to emulate them. Although secular life experiences may offer valuable lessons, Scripture urges us to adopt fundamental qualities that stand in opposition to worldly values, which are essential for a transformative Christian life.
This month, we will delve into the Scriptures to uncover the true nature of the individuals we are meant to emulate. From Jesus’ teaching on becoming like little children (Mt. 18:3), or Paul’s message on becoming all things to all people (1 Cor. 9:20-22), we are called to resist becoming like the world (1 Jn. 2:15) and ultimately to be conformed to the image of Christ (Rom 8:29). The message of Scripture is clear: we are to adopt the humility of a child, the adaptability of Paul, the discernment to resist worldly influences, and the commitment to being shaped into the image of Christ.
We invite you to come together with us as we embrace and gain profound spiritual insights during our current sermon series titled “Becoming Like Them.”
