Key Verse: 2 Cor. 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
When it comes to taking a step of faith, we either have to believe in ourselves, or we have to believe in something greater than ourselves. For some, faith is the foundation of everything they do. For others, it is the last resort when nothing else seems to work. Whichever you can relate to, for all of us faith is a mysterious place wherein lies the unknown, the hope, and an expectation that is contrary to our reality.
God desires our walk with Him to be focused on taking the next step to grow in our faith (2 Thess. 1:3). Our steps of faith draw us near to a God and causes us to believe in the One who is a rewarder of faith (Heb. 11:6). As we look ahead into our lives, our church, and the kingdom, what are some steps of faith we must take in order for expansion to take place in these areas? What steps must you take to grow your faith? If you don’t know the answer, just remember what a great man of faith once said, “it is in the absence of answers that faith is born”.
Our challenge for you in this next sermon series is that you would not just be hearers of the Word, but also doers (Js. 1:22). So as we prepare to walk in faith, let us be reminded that our steps are established by God (Ps. 37:23). So whatever step of faith you decide to take today, know that He has gone before you (Dt. 31:8) and that he will never leave you or forsake you (Heb. 13:5). This month, let us discover together the thrill, the peace, the joy, and the growth as we take the necessary Steps of Faith in expanding our lives, the church and the Kingdom!
