Key Scripture: Acts 2:1-2
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
World history shows us how seasons of trial and tragedy typically precede revival. Biblical history tells us it was about 50 days after Jesus’ crucifixion when revival descended upon approximately 120 people (Acts 1:15) who had gathered in a home with the expectation of a promise. The early church was born in a home and the promised Holy Spirit had entered the hearts of many (Acts 2:1-2). At the moment, we don’t have the privilege of gathering in a large group, but His Word tells us that He is present among just a few (Mt. 18:20). As we remain in our homes during this season of uncertainty, let us remember what God can do in the midst of trials and tribulation. He can bring revival!
Over the last several weeks, we have heard of countless stories about families spending quality time together and relationships being restored. Young men and women are discovering a new intimacy with Jesus. Many are finding creative ways to worship God and homes have turned into temples. Holy supper is being taken at home and people are coming into repentance. The lost are finding direction in relationship with Jesus and people who have not stepped foot in a church for a long time are watching online.
All of this speaks to the reality that revival is taking place in our homes! Let us not miss the opportunity at hand to bring Revival at Home. It’s a time to improve the condition of our families and strengthen relationships. Our faith in God and His presence in us must rise to another level (2 Thes. 1:3). Today and now, know who you are in Christ, walk in repentance as you are led by the Holy Spirit, and create opportunity for miracles to happen in your home. Let us not wait until we gather in the building for revival. Now is the time for Revival at Home!
