Key Verse: James 1:22 ESV
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
As we make preparations to reach out to our community, we challenge you to dig deeper into your relationship with God and discover how you can live out your faith in a more meaningful way; the way God intended. God does not call us with the intent of just discovering and developing our own personal faith in Him, and then ignoring everyone else. As the “apple of His eye” (Ps. 17:8) we are not meant to develop an I-Faith. Believing in our soul that God is real is good for heaven, but it’s not enough to live on this earth. Our purpose here is to live out our faith everyday with fear and trembling (Phil 2:12). We are not saved just to be set free from sin, filled with power of the Holy Spirit, be given a new life, and keep it all to ourselves. This is a selfish Christianity that God has not called us to. We are commanded to go and make disciples (Mt. 28:19). We are called to proclaim the good news to the poor, bind up the brokenhearted, set the captives free, release prisoners from darkness, comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve (Isa. 61:1-3). Let’s unite as the Body of Christ to live out our faith so that we can reach out to our community the way God intended us to.

My husband was at service when this sermon was preached and was moved emensly so I just wanted to say God is amazing and may you Rebecca be blessed as a server and a vessel of God to bring such a touching word to our church. I’ve been wanting to listen to it and today have finally had a moment to follow it. I also feel convicted and pray for repentance and truly feel blessed to be a member of LCC with amazing pastor’s and speakers that are filled with the love of God. Thank you Rebecca God bless you and your family today and always. AMEN
