3/11/18 – Pastor Norma Cancel – “Secret Seeker”
3/4/18 – Pastor Alex Valentin – “Three Keys to the Kingdom”
Key Verse: Matthew 6:1
“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
The motivation for society in getting attention is to expose what should be kept in secret. We have become thirsty for the attention of man at the risk of gaining earthly rewards. However, Scripture teaches us about three areas of our lives that should be done in secret so we can obtain heavenly rewards (Mat. 6:1-18).
There are no other more important acts of discipline in the secret life of a believer than that of prayer, fasting and giving. Jesus himself is our prime example of how to pray as he sweat drops of blood in the garden of Gethsemane (Lk. 22:44). He sacrificed his body to hunger as he fasted for forty days in the desert (Mt. 4:2). Lastly, He demonstrated a life of giving as he gave His life for us and was buried in a tomb (Mt. 27:59). Jesus’ acts of righteousness were done in the secret places of the garden, the desert, and the tomb and His reward came from His Father in heaven.
This month we will be studying about the “Secret Rewards” that come from living a life of prayer, fasting and giving. We will learn the true meaning of these three disciplines as we actively put them into practice. We encourage you to join us this month in discovering the “Secret Rewards” as we spend time in corporate prayer, fasting and giving.
